This greek island is situated in the northern part of the Egean Sea. It is a part of the Kavala county.
Kavala city and port is located at the Egean Seashore and provides amazing rocky landscapes and awesome quiet beaches.The city is on one hand built on rocks and on the other hand at the seashore.
Thassos is a big round island having the perimeter of about 100km. There are afforested mountains up to 1200m going down to the sea. Beautiful trips have to be considered. Down the mountains are fine sandy beaches. The seawater is clear and shallow on a long distance. This last thing makes possible the bathing without worries of the children.
The roads network cross the mountains plunging in small resorts. In each one being beaches and hotels.
The access on the island is by ferry from Kavala or from Keramoti. The transport of the passengers together with the cars is relaxing and fast. There are several terraces with benches from where you can easily admire the beautiful marine views. You can go inside to serve some beverages and to enjoy the air-conditioning.
This site refers to the tourists wanting to be accomodated in special conditions in the beautiful resort of Skala Potamia-Golden Beach. The shore has the ones of the most fine beaches on the island.
